I'm probably more conscious of how everyone takes up space because it's a sensory thing for me. But I notice a big difference between the way men and women navigate the spaces they are in. Men tend to own the space in a way that women don't and are quite confronted when that unspoken entitlement is disrupted. If I ask a man to move his feet off the seat so I can get past, somehow I'm the one with the problem who needs to 'take a chill pill'. Groan.
